The Three Greatest Moments In Toto Asia History
The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding production facilities abroad, and doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People’s Republic of China. The company considered North America as a growth market for Washlet bidets and toilets, as opposed to its “base” markets of Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto was documenting Toto words to ensure the future generations could read them. Many words were replaced with foreign words. For instance, dui, which is Bengali for verandah, was being used.
Origins
Toto’s early history, which began in 1917, mirrored Japan’s rapid economic growth. In the first half of its existence, the company manufactured goods to meet demand for modern, contemporary urban housing. It was the first tunnel kiln in the country to produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered the use of automation to control production, which allows for greater efficiency and consistency.
The company began expanding its operations overseas in the late 1980s to benefit from new markets and sales opportunities. The company founded the Cera Trading Company to import and sell other products from other manufacturers to expand its line of sanitary earthenwares as well as plumbing fittings. This strategy helped increase sales and expand the market share of the company globally.
In the late 1990s, Toto had shifted its emphasis on research and development for water-related household appliances. It also redesigned its system of distribution to better serve its customers and improve profit. The company adopted a just-in-time approach to supply chain management and used the same methodology for its sales process. This resulted in a higher level of customer satisfaction.
Toto has been able to continue to innovate on the toilet technology. Its latest toilet, for example it has a strong tornado flush that is more ecologically friendly than traditional toilets. Toto uses recycled water in its manufacturing process, and has a green buying policy. In addition to toilets Toto manufactures faucets and bathtubs and hand dryers that are more energy efficient than typical models.
The first museum of the company opened in 2015 and features exhibits on Toto’s most iconic products and their development as well as its group companies (all related to ceramics), history of plumbing and products such as bath units and, in a separate gallery, Toto products sold around the world. The museum even has a bathroom that includes the WASHLET toilet, as well as other toilet-related innovations.
Before forming Toto members of the group did session work for various musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also appeared on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name as evocative as Asia one would expect the group to be prog kings and queens – but it’s actually a fairly straightforward rock band. The band started out as a group and recorded two albums – 1979’s self-titled debut album and 1980’s Armed to the Teeth. The group has a wide musical background, but their greatest success came in 1982 when they released Toto IV.
The album was a huge blockbuster, but it was not without its difficulties. Record companies placed the band on the spot with the ultimatum “give us a hit record or we’ll take you off the market” and the pressure was on to meet the deadline. Toto was able to achieve this through the aid of the hit song “Africa.”
Toto’s musical mastery is due to their previous experiences, as the band members had been session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior to forming the group. Their sonic trademark has become the standard for 1980s music, and has inspired a lot of contemporary artists.
The album begins hard with tracks like Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band’s ability to create great AOR tunes that slowly get into your head. But the album also contains some slower, more jazzy tracks such as The Little Things and Chinatown. The album closes with Great Expectations, a song that mixes folk with distortion AOR and should sound totally wrong, but is incredibly effective.
After Toto IV the band’s fortunes began to decline. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career, and the band went through various drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band following drug-related charges. The band continued to play with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Despite the turmoil, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation however, which was not as successful as IV. The band managed to release a chart-topping album, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. This album marked the conclusion of the original Toto lineup and was the first to feature a new singer, Simon Phillips.

The band’s repertoire is vast and their catalog has amassed over a billion streams on streaming services around the world. The band’s music has influenced numerous generations of fans.
Steve Lukather has forged a rich, deep friendship with Joe Williams that is flourishing professionally all over the world. In 2018 the duo celebrated their 40th anniversary of Tours Around the Sun with a massively successful global tour. The album of the same name debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200. The band’s latest tour includes their greatest hits, rarely performed live deep-cuts as well as some songs from Lukather’s and Williams individual catalogs.
TOTO has a customer satisfaction rating of 20 according to its Net Promoter Score, which measures how likely customers are to recommend the brand. Detractors are those who judge the company poorly, and can even actively discourage others from using their services or products.

Line-up
The album’s third, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet style of the previous albums. It was a more powerful, consistent effort with a harder edge than Hydra. The more edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the growth of the band. Drummer Bobby Kimball’s increased virtuosity was reflected by the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. Keyboardist David Paich’s work also was sharper, more intricate, and less derivative than on previous recordings.
After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live show in Amsterdam that was released as a set of two CDs titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The group released a new studio album a few months after and then embarked on a world tour to help promote the album. In this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started looking through old demo tapes and tapes to make a new record featuring songs that had never been recorded before. It was completed in 2001 as a duo album called Then and Now. It was the first album in the band’s history that did not include a single song with the word “A” in the title, and it also contained one previously unreleased track, “Kari-Anne”.
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group’s fourth record, Old Is New was not a commercial success and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis that affected his singing abilities. In addition, Hungate returned to Nashville as a drummer, and Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.
Downes along with the other original members of Asia – Wetton, Palmer, and 토토사이트 모음 Howe–convened an event in England in the early part of 2006 to discuss the possibility of officially reforming the band. The lineup, with the exception of Howe who was working with Yes at the time, became Toto XIV. They toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also had an appearance by singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
